Joseph "Joe" Franklin Sellars, III, 71 of Westminster, Colorado passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024 surrounded by his family.
Joe was born on February 12, 1953 in Nacogdoches, TX to Joe and Lois (Carpenter) Sellars. Joe spent his childhood in Thornton Colorado and is a 1971 graduate of Merit Hutton High School. After High School, Joe married Nancy (Gunnerson) and enlisted in the Army where his travels took them to West Germany, California, Virginia and Maryland. They had three children - Paula, Jeremy and Karen. In 1991 he rounded out his family and welcomed his fourth child with Cricket Hazelwood - Teia. Joe married Dee Stuart in 2012.
Joe Sellars, a name synonymous with brilliance and adventure, is not your ordinary man. He's a computer wizard, crafting code like an alchemist turns lead into gold. His fingers dance across keyboards, both QWERTY and B3, with equal finesse, creating symphonies of logic and melodies that resonate in the heart of Denver's music scene.
As a motorcycle maestro, Joe defies gravity, riding dirt and asphalt with a daredevil's grin. He's the no-hands world record holder, a title earned not just by skill, but by an indomitable spirit that laughs in the face of fear.
But wait, there's more to Joe than just bytes and bikes. He's a philosopher of the cosmos, pondering the mysteries of the universe as he rides through the starlit night. His thoughts, deep and profound, are treasures that enrich the soul.
A family man at his core, Joe leads with love and wisdom, guiding his kin like a northern star guides sailors. His collection of pens, flashlights, and boxes filled with cool random objects is more than a hobby; it's a map of memories, each item a story, a victory, a dream.
So here's to Joe Sellars, a man larger than life, now a legend in the universe.
Joe is survived by his four children, Paula (Jeff), Jeremy (Melanie), Karen, Teia (Thang), 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, sister Emily and wife Dee. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Franklin Sellars, Jr., and Lois Sellars.
A Celebration of Life will be had on Sunday, June 23rd 2024 for Joe at 1pm @Cheers Bar. (11964 Washington St, Northglenn, CO 80233)

I didn´t know Joseph. But my dad, Charles Adamson, 94 yrs old, had me read his obit today so he could then tell me about him. What he told me about Joseph was that in the seventies when desk top computing was very brand new and my dad started a computer business in Arvada Colorado, Joseph worked for him. Dad said people, even computer people didn´t understood the difference and could really only comprehend the old punch card batch processing that computers up until that time used. But Joseph understood it all immediately, in a flash of insight, from the moment he heard of it. Dad had worked with and met many computer types over the years, but he had never really run across a mind like Joseph´s. I can tell from reading Joseph´s obit that he must have affected many people who had similar experience with him. And so I believe he will truly be missed by all who knew him.
