JOSEPH CHARLES SIMPSON, age 73 years of Morenci, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Midland Hospice Care Home in Topeka, Kansas after a brief illness. He was born on May 27, 1952, in Adrian, the son of Charles Franklin and Elizabeth (Alford) Simpson.

Joseph served his country in the United States Army and a career in law enforcement in Pottawamie County Kansas as a police officer and later as police chief. He loved riding motorcycles, fishing and was a huge fan of the Detroit Tigers Baseball Team. Joe was devoted to his children and grandchildren, he was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all.

Joseph is survived by his son, Joey (Robin) Simpson, daughters, Frankie Simpson, Kayde Miller and Kandi (Chad) Simpson, step-daughters, Leah (Alan) Taylor and Valerie (Dustin) Siegle, 15 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, sisters, Julie (Tracy) Morse, LouAnn Rowley, Pam (Ken) Richardson, Becky (Donavan) Paskan and Tanya (David) Garvin and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends for visitation at the Marry Funeral Home, Morenci, on Monday, July 28, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral service begins at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Maryann Reimund officiating. Burial will follow at Dover Center Cemetery, Clayton with Military Honors performed by the Hannan-Colvin Post #180 American Legion, Hudson.

Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Friends can express sympathies to the family online by visiting the tribute wall at www.marryfh.com. Arrangements have been made with the guidance of the Marry Funeral Home, Morenci.
