Joseph Mark Stahl

1948 - 2026

Joseph "Joe" Mark Stahl, age 77, of Savannah, passed away Monday, February 23, 2026. Joe was born on April 24, 1948, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Walter Joseph Stahl II and the late Eleanora Catherine Hennel Stahl.

Joe attended St. Xavier High School, graduating in 1966. After graduation, he attended Xavier University obtaining his bachelor's degree in 1970. While in college, Joe was a member of the ROTC, which prepared him for his time in the Army Reserves. During his academic career Joe worked for the Powell Crosley YMCA and later became a volunteer board member. His professional career landed him in the real estate industry, where he stayed until his retirement.

In 2016, Joe and his family settled in Savannah, Georgia. He was a faithful servant at Calvary Baptist Temple and an active member of his community. He volunteered for many organizations, such as the Boy Scouts of America, Tybee Clean Beach, the Davenport House Museum, and the Coastal Museum Association.

Although Joe was a man of business, he always made time for the great outdoors. If he wasn't near a body of water, you could find him on one of his daily two mile walks. Joe was a social person and outgoing person. He led his life with a kind heart and was always willing to help his neighbor. A devoted friend and family man, he will be deeply missed by those whose lives he touched.

Along with his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his brother, Walter Stahl III.

Joe is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barb Stahl; son, Mark Stahl and his wife Terri; daughter, Mary Jones and her husband Richard; and his three cherished grandchildren, Liam, Sophia, and Sydney.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 10 a.m., at Calvary Baptist Temple.
