Joseph Stokowski Obituary
Joe was born on December 9, 1956, in Peoria, to John and Virginia (Nader) Stokowski. He graduated from Peoria Hugh School in 1975. He married Joan Shoop on September 22, 1984. She survives. Also surviving is his brother, Jeff (Chris) Stokowski of Peoria, cousins, Jerry (Carla) Stokowski of Dunlap and Judy Stokowski of Apalachicola, FL, four nephews and two nieces. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, John and nephew, Shane.
Joe worked as a warehouseman for a variety of companies in the Peoria area, retiring from Pilkington Glass Company in 2019. He was a long-time member of St. Philomena Catholic Church.
After retirement, Joe could often be found doing what he loved, fishing and target shooting. He became a great shot.
Funeral service will be at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at St. Philomena Catholic Church, with visitation from 10:00 AM until time of mass. Cremation Rites will be accorded after services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Compassus Hospice or Mrs. Tony's 7th grade at St. Philomena Catholic School.
