Joseph A. Strausbaugh

Joseph A. Strausbaugh, of Hanover, passed away at home on October 4, 2022 at the age of 91. He was the beloved husband of Darlene F. (Cromer) Strausbaugh; the loving father of Jolene Shrader and her husband Donald, Sheryl Wagner and her husband Tony, Denise Neiderer and her husband Ben, Faye Bealing and her husband Jim, and Joe Strausbaugh and his fiancé Karen Tregoning; the cherished grandfather of Daryl, Dustin, Tony Jr., Todd, Matthew, James, Nicole and Christopher. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents Augustus E. and Rose A. (Weaver) Strausbaugh; his siblings, Claude Strausbaugh, Robert Strausbaugh, Anna Stambaugh, Pauline Wildasin, Marguerite Roberts, Florence Weaver and Rosie Hershey; and his daughter-in-law, Amy Strausbaugh.
Joseph was a member of Sacred Heart Basilica, Knights of Columbus, and American Legion Post 14. He retired from Hanover Brands in 1992. Joseph and Darlene shared 66 years of marriage. His greatest loves were Sunday night bonfires with the family and singing & playing harmonica for the grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing in celebration of Joseph's life on Friday, October 7th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, October 8th, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., at Murphy-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 501 Ridge Avenue, McSherrystown, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Basilica with Rev. Dwight Schlaline officiating. Interment at Conewago Chapel Cemetery.
