Joseph "Joe" Lee Stygar, beloved son, nephew, brother, and friend departed this life on March 1, 2023. Joe was born in Edina, Minnesota where he was raised by his mother and father until their passing. Their favorite pastime together was fishing.
Joe moved to Melbourne, FL in 2010. He attended Melbourne High School where he joined the wrestling team and made many lifelong friends who knew him as "Red". In 2018 Joe enlisted in the U.S Army where he became a Specialist in the 603rd Aviation Support Battalion as an aircraft mechanic. His passion for fishing was lifelong and he spent countless hours in the gym with his buddies earning himself the nickname "Joey Swol".
He is survived by his Uncle Rocky and Aunt Jeanne who raised him after his parents' passing in childhood as well as many loving aunts, uncles, friends, and fellow service members. Joe was predeceased by his mother, Laura Ann Stygar and his father, Jesse Paul Stygar. Joe will be greatly missed by the many lives he touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to The Headstrong Project, a non-profit mental health organization providing confidential, barrier-free, and stigma-free PTSD treatment to our veterans, service members, and family connected to their care.
