Age 68, a long time resident of Frankfort, passed away August 16, 2025 at his home. He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Anna Marie, his children, Joseph (Amanda) Sues, Laura (Ron) Lampen, Daniel (Katie) Sues and his nine cherished grandchildren- AJ, Adriana, Aston, Noah, Dominic, Owen, Vincent, Genevieve, and Otto.
Joe is survived by his mother Louise (nee Cairo), siblings Mary Kay (late Richard) Anderson, Donald (Suellen) Sues, Julie (Brian) Sues Delaney, Robert (Cindy) Sues, and siblings in law Peggy King, Joanne Louridas, Michael (Laura) Harris, and Ted Harris. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Donald Sues.
Joe began his long and successful career in the automotive industry working in his family’s business at the Beverly Garage. He went on to work for Good Year Tire, Montgomery Wards, Pep Boys, Bathfitter, National Tire & Battery and retired from AAA Car Care Plus in 2025. He was known for his strong leadership and team building skills, integrity, and vast knowledge in his field. Training and Development was his passion, and he shared his expertise with everyone he met.
Joe truly loved his cars and always kept ‘something fun’ in the garage. He enjoyed traveling, most especially to wineries and national parks. Joe loved taking family trips, most recently to the Wisconsin Dells and Pigeon Forge, where he took great delight in watching his grandchildren spend time together while wearing his famous Grandpa Shirt.
Family will receive friends for visitation at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort IL 60423 on Sunday, August 24th, 2025, from 3:00-8:00PM. The Funeral Mass will be at St. George Catholic Church on Monday, August 25th, 2025, at 10:00AM. Interment will be in Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery, Orland Park, IL.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Catholic Charities would be greatly appreciated.
