Beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather;

Joseph J. "Buster" Tello, 91, of Tewksbury, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at home.

He was the loving husband of the late Lorraine J. (Rhynold) Tello, who died in 2023.

Born in Boston's North End, on August 20, 1934, the son of the late Francis and the late Leonilda (Albano) Tello, he attended grammar school in the North End, and left school to enter the workforce. As a young man, Buster worked extensively on the Boston waterfront, on the fish piers, on fishing boats, in construction and as truck driver. He served in the US Army prior to marrying the love of his life, Lorraine in 1957. They eventually moved the family to Tewksbury where they lived for over 55 years. Before his retirement, Buster worked as a union truck driver for B.N. Corkum Transportation Company in Wilmington, MA, for 15 years.

Buster's family and friends all have a story to tell about times they shared with him. His grandchildren fondly remember playing "Bear" in the woods with him around the campfire in Madison, NH. His friends from the Riverside Yacht Club recall fishing trips and weekend visits to Hyannis and Martha's Vineyard. His hunting buddies share stories of the one that got away, and his mentorship of younger hunters. His children remember the lessons he taught them regarding the importance of family, education and work ethic. Everyone enjoyed visiting with Buster and Lorraine, whether it was for a holiday party, a weekend at the camp, or during their annual trips to Key Largo.

Buster is survived by three sons, Steven Tello and his wife Valerie McCann of Tyngsborough, MA, Ronald Tello and his wife Denise of Madison, NH, and Mark Tello and his partner Ann Standke of Hudson, NH; a daughter, Linda Tello of Tewksbury, MA; eight grandchildren, Nichole Tello of Hudson, NH, Hannah Tello and her husband Shawn Clod of Tyngsboro, MA, Michael Tello and his wife Maria of Hudson, NH, Ashley Austin and her husband Matthew of Tewksbury, MA, Christina Tello of Dracut, MA, Kristopher Tello and his wife Jessica of Hudson, NH, Emma Tello of Nashua, NH, and Brianna Kenyon and her husband Michael of Dracut, MA; and fourteen great grandchildren.

He was the brother of the late Francis Tello, Ronald J. Tello and John Tello.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 4 to 7 PM at the O'DONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 276 Pawtucket St. in Lowell. Burial will take place at a later date. E-condolences and directions are available at www.odonnellfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Funeral Director James F. O'Donnell, Jr. (978) 458-8768.
