Joseph Michael Thomas, 49, of Lynchburg passed away peacefully on Saturday February 24, 2024 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the son of Marie Wooldridge and the late John Wesley Thomas. He is preceded in death by his father, John Wesley Thomas, grandparents, John and Lucille Thomas, and James and Alene Campbell.
He is survived by his wife Nicole Thomas and his 2 children Campbell and Zari Thomas, mother Marie Wooldridge (David Wooldridge), and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Joe was a loving husband, father, son, friend, and colleague. He loved being around his family, friends, and coworkers. Joe was always the Life of the Party and so much fun to be around. If you were having a bad day he could always make you laugh to make your day better. He enjoyed, cooking, camping, and watching the Chicago Bears with his son, Campbell. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His legacy will live on through all his family and friends that he impacted through his 49 years here on earth. Everyone needs a “Joe” in their life.
The family will receive friends and family on Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 6-8pm at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A celebration of Joe’s life will be at 11am on March 1, 2024 in the Chapel of Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg with Rev. Susan Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Cemetery in Lynchburg, VA.
