Joseph Russell Turner Jr., 80, passed away February 7th, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Eclipse, Virginia the son of the late Joseph Russell Turner Sr. and Mildred Etta Williams Turner.
He was predeceased by his sister; Mildred Christine Turner Wright and his brother Michael Anthony Turner.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Frances L. Gardner Turner, son Joseph Wayne Turner (Gail); daughter Jennifer Lee Turner; and; grandchildren Caly Turner, Tre’ Billups III, and Joseph E. Turner
Joseph retired from VDOT after 38 years and continued applying his expertise working with several independent contractors. He enjoyed fishing and helping his neighbors mowing grass and other chores that were needed. Joseph enjoyed rooting for the Atlanta Braves and the Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.
