Joseph R. "Joe" Unthank

Joseph "Joe" Richard Unthank (83) died on March 7th, 2024. Joe lived life to his fullest surrounded by his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, papaw, and great papaw. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, sporting events, farming, and family trips to the rodeo. He was an avid Eldorado Eagles fan and followed the Eagles for 50+ years. He retired from Tri-County Chemical in 2002 after spending 41 years. One of the things that brought so much joy in his life was sharing yearly family rodeo trips with all his kids and grandkids. Joe's memory will always be kept alive through his family and friends.
Joe and Martha welcomed their first son in 1961, Larry Joe Unthank. Followed by their daughter, Tammy Renee (Unthank) Haury and a son, Bradley Wayne Unthank.
Joe will be lovingly remembered by wife, Martha Helen (Womack) Unthank, his children, daughter Tammy (Unthank) Haury, son Bradley (Michelle) Unthank, daughter-n-law, Sherry Unthank, his grandchildren, Carey (Katie) Unthank, Abby Haury, Dakota Street, Dillon (Hannah) Street, Braden Unthank, Brylie Unthank, great-grandchildren, Larry, Peyton, Bryson, and Annilyn Unthank, Kaydence Street, Tucker Street, sister, Thelma Mae Cook, brother Donald Ray Unthank. Joe was proceeded in death by his son, Larry Joe Unthank, his parents, John and Bessie (Reeder) Unthank, in-laws Lawrence and Eula Mae Waggener, sisters, Anna Lee (Bill) Owen, Barbara Jean (Bob) Mayberry, Edith Marie (Tim) Rister, Mary Ellen (Richard) Brown, brother, John Unthank, JR infant, brother-n-law Gene Cook, sister-n-law Shirley Unthank.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Watson Funeral Home with Rev. Russell Helton officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until service time of 2:00 PM.
Memorials in his memory may be made to College Heights Baptist Church or American Heart Association and envelopes will be available.
