Joseph Welch was born in Amarillo, Texas, on February 6, 1965, to Ella Crain and Billy Welch. He departed this life on September 17, 2025. Joseph graduated from Amarillo High School in 1985 and later attended Amarillo College Technical School, where he received a certificate in Auto Mechanics. He worked as a laborer in various jobs until he retired at an early age due to his disability. Joseph enjoyed watching NFL football, especially cheering for his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. In his spare time, he loved spending time with family and friends. Joseph was a kind and loving person whose presence brought joy to everyone around him. He will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ella Crain.

Joseph leaves to cherish his memory: siblings, Billy Welch (Doris) and Tanya Crain; devoted wife, Martha Welch; three sons, Da'Shaun, RayShaun, and Torrey Welch; two daughters, Ashley and Trina Welch. He was blessed with six grandchildren: Keishaun, Zariyaah, Royal, Dashtyn, Raheem, and Ransym Welch. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Psalm 23:1–3 "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me."
