Josephine Bergen

Josephine Bergen, (nee Capaci), 90, of Paramus, formerly of Paterson, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025. Before retiring, Josephine was a dedicated Executive Secretary for A & P Food Stores. She was a Member of Annunciation R.C. Church, Paramus, NJ. Josephine had a wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed spending time laughing around the table with family and friends. Josephine was a wonderful cook who was known far and wide for her eggplant parmagiana, meatballs and chicken cutlets. She took pleasure in the company of loved ones, and was an avid reader and a devoted NY Yankees fan.
Beloved wife of Joseph Bergen. Loving mother of Catherine Picarelli and her husband Joseph, and Therese Weiss and her late husband Leigh. Adored grandmother of Matthew Musto and his wife Kathrine Moran, Christopher Musto and his girlfriend Gillian Vallaster, and John Picarelli. Cherished sister of Charlotte DiCarlo and her late husband Robert. Also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her siblings Frank Capaci, Anna DeRemer, and Louise Syperda.
Family will receive friends on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Farview Avenue, Paramus, NJ. Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 am on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at the Annunciation R.C. Church, 50 W Midland Ave, Paramus. All to meet at church. Cremation will be private.
