Obituary published on Legacy.com by Vander Plaat Memorial Home on Nov. 17, 2025.
Peter Romain, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on May 12, 1958, Peter lived a life defined by unwavering love, deep loyalty, and the quiet, joyful strength he shared with everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Peter was the devoted husband of Anne Lacitignola Romain for 38 years, with whom he built a life filled with laughter, partnership, and unconditional support. He was the proud father of Regina Gluzmanov (husband, Peter Gluzmanov) and Danielle Marino (husband, Chad Marino), who were the center of his world. To his grandson Max, he was Pa, the role that brought him his greatest joy. Pa was his favorite title, and Max was the light of his life. Their bond was pure magic.
A fiercely dedicated and loving father, Peter never missed a single swim meet or milestone. He showed up, always. Whether cheering loudly from the top row at Rutgers or quietly offering encouragement, he made every moment feel important. His daughters grew up knowing that their dad was in their corner every single day of their lives.
Peter was also the proud dog dad to Beans and Allie, and cat dad to Thelma, Louise, and Lucy, who brought him daily comfort and companionship. He shared a deep bond with his brothers, Artie, Steven, and Joey, and carried their memories, mischief, and love with him throughout his life.
He was cherished by his coworkers and friends, who admired his humor, kindness, and his rare ability to make everyone feel seen and valued. Peter had a natural gift for finding the good in people. He never hesitated to tell one of his signature jokes that could instantly brighten the room. His warmth was effortless; his love was generous; his presence made life better.
What we will miss most is Peter's heart and his ability to make people feel loved, his instinct to bring out the best in others, his laughter, and the way he created joy simply by being himself.
Peter leaves behind a legacy of compassion, devotion, and deep family love. Though he left us too soon, the imprint he made on our lives will remain forever.
May his memory be a blessing and may the love he gave continue to guide those he cherished most.
