Josephine T. (Jo) Callahan (nee Kwasnicki) formerly of Elmira NY and most recently Dexter NY departed this life on April 27th after 92 years enjoying life with her family and the friendships she built over the years. She was married to her husband William J. Callahan for 49 years until his death in 2004. She was also preceded in death by her loving brother Stanley Kwasnicki. Born and raised in New York City, she is survived by her 5 children - William K. (Paula), Robert (Billiejo), Carol Howard (Ron), Michael (Alison), and Joseph (Sharon), 9 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. Jo loved travel and enjoyed trips to many places - including Morocco, Greece, Egypt and Jordan in her late 70s, a cruise through the Panama Canal and down the South American coast and a trip to Ireland and England in her 80s. For her 90th birthday she travelled to Savannah, GA to see the historic sites and be with all of her children and grand-children. She will be remembered for her eclectic tastes and interests and wonderful handwritten letters to her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family plans to hold a funeral mass and remembrance celebration at a later date.
