Josephine "Jo" Chantrill, 85, of Ackley, passed away peacfully on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at Grand JiVante in Ackley. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at St. John's U.C.C. in Ackley. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the church. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Sietsema Funeral Home in Ackley.
Josephine Helen Chantrill was born February 20th, 1937, at home to Harm and Jennie (Kuper) Mulder.
Jo, as she was commonly known as, was united in marriage to Clyde Chantrill from Buckeye on March 3rd, 1957. When Jo wasn't taking care of their 3 daughters she worked at the Ackley State Bank, then St. John's United Church of Christ.
In 1984 a new adventure led Clyde and Jo to Texas. They found a wonderful home in The Colony where Jo worked at The Colony Bank, and later at the local Library. Jo moved back to Ackley in 2015.
Jo was active in Church, Sunday School Teaching, Sunshine Circle, as well as taxi service for her 3 daughters as they were involved in school activities and sports.
Those left behind to cherish Jo's memories are her children Connie (Terry) Stubbe of Iowa Falls, Cyndi Chantrill of Iowa Falls and son-in-law Eric Lawver of Georgetown, IN. Sister Linda (Larry) Kreimeyer of Geneva IA, Sister-in-Law Judy Mulder of Reinbeck IA. Nieces and Nephews. Grandchildren, Andy and (Rebecca) Stubbe of Littleton CO, Kerry (Steve) Mulford of Iowa Falls, Dalton Lawver of Georgetown, IN and Ethan Lawver of Valparaiso, IN. As well as several great grandchildren: Piper Mulford, Saylor Mulford, Presley Mulford, Keaton Mulford, Hayley Stubbe, Brayden Stubbe, and Pacey Mulford.
Those who will greet Jo in Heaven are her husband Clyde, and daughter Tammy Lawver along with her grandchildren Alvin and Jennie Lawver. Her parents Jennie and Harm Mulder, and brother Larry Mulder from Reinbeck IA.
