Josephine Ann Sikora Conforti, 88, passed peacefully at the Middleton Senior Living center in Granville, Ohio on October 12th, 2025. Josie went by many names, those included daughter to the late Michael and Elizabeth Sikora and sister to the late Veronica Marx, Marguritte Mason, and Robert Sikora. She was a loving and dedicated wife for 52 years to the late Jerry Conforti. Josie was born in Barton, Ohio on November 12th and moved to Shadyside when she and Jerry married. She raised her children and made a life in the valley for many years. Upon retirement, Jerry and Jo moved to
Pickerington, Ohio to be closer to their children and The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Josie was a graduate of Bridgeport High School and, later in life, the Ohio State School of Cosmetology. Her most notable careers included being a nail technician at Charles Penzone Grand Salon and more importantly, she baked. She supplied cookies for "Pittsburgh Cookie Tables" AND Christmas cookies throughout the valley. Her lady locks and nut horns were legendary and she always had a cookie jar for her neighborhood kids. She loved pizza with Jeff, giving Jay a hard time, talking politics and the stock market, catching up with her bunco friends and taking walks in her neighborhood. She introduced her granddaughters to the arts and often took them to "the villages" in downtown Columbus to see plays and learn about culture.
Her greatest role was that of mother and grandmother. She is survived by her sons, Jerry "Jay" (Tracey) Conforti of Millersport and Jeff Conforti of Pickerington. She was a beloved Grammy to Jillian Conforti of Columbus and Ava Conforti of Millersport and Great Grammy to Geo. Josie loved spending time on the phone with her niece Eleanor (Ron) Clark and laughing until they cried. She is also survived by her favorite nephew and niece, Chad (Laura) Clark and Natalie (Greg) Fleck and their children.
