Josephine Bryant Lester

Josephine Bryant Lester, 80, entered into rest on Sunday, March 31, 2024.

Josephine was born on December 17, 1943, in Hawkinsville, Georgia to the late Elgin Bryant, Sr. and Alzie Lee Bryant. She was a longtime secretary for Supreme Life Insurance Company in Chicago until her retirement. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, and shopping. Her presence will be deeply missed by those she loved. 

In addition to her parents, Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Lee Lester.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her daughter, Nicole Lester McAllister, and siblings, L.C. Bryant, Mary Dennis, Ann McGrift, Ruthie McGhee, Alzie Lawson, Elgin Bryant, Willie Bryant, and Henry Bryant. 

Visitation will be Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Sandridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Hawkinsville, where Josephine will be laid to rest with Eulogist Rev. Gary Larson.
