Josephine was born on May 28, 1926 in Millerville, MN to Joseph and Mary Haiden. She died peacefully at the age of 99 on December 7, 2025.
Josephine lived on a family farm until the age of seventeen at which time she left the farm to attend St. Gabriel’s School of Nursing where she served as a member of the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps, and she earned her registered nursing degree. She met her husband while working at the VA Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. She was a recovery room nurse at the Washington Hospital Center. Josephine was a devoted wife and mother to her five children. Upon her husband’s retirement, they were actively engaged in entrepreneurial enterprises, including opening the first 59 Minute Photo shop and opening the Blue & White Taxi Cab Service in St. Cloud, MN. They built and managed multiple apartment complexes.
Josephine was a devout Catholic. She was actively involved with her church community and served as a lector and a Eucharistic Minister.
To honor Josephine, please consider a memorial contribution to the Glenn (5300 Woodhill Rd, Minnetonka, MN 55345) and specify it is for pastoral care and the restoration of the adoration chapel.
Josephine is survived by her children: Lynn, Robert, JoAnn and Rick. She is survived by 11 grandchildren, 15 greatgrandchildren, and one brother, Gerald. Josephine is preceded in death by her husband Richard, two children (Charles and Joseph) and eight siblings. Funeral mass details will be shared once finalized.
