John James Vollaro: A Life of Devotion, Family, and Service

John James Vollaro, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025, in San Tan Valley, Arizona, surrounded by his loving family. He was 80 years old.

Born on August 25, 1945, John was the son of the late John George and Elizabeth (Ferranola) Vollaro. He was born and raised in New York, New York, where his devotion to the Catholic faith began in his younger years as he served his church as an altar boy.

While attending Madison High School, John met the love of his life, Delores Tigar. Their enduring sixty-year marriage began on January 29, 1966. Shortly before their marriage, John was drafted into the US Army in September 1965, serving his country honorably.

John and Delores were blessed with a large and loving family: Denise Elizabeth, followed by Delores Ann, John George, Joann, Donna Marie, and Joseph William. While living in Brooklyn, New York, John owned and operated Vollaro's Autobody of Canarsie Brooklyn. In 1990, the family relocated to Arizona, where John continued his entrepreneurship by founding Custom and Quality Towing in 1991. He proudly operated the company with his family until its closing in 2018.

John was a man of passion, particularly for baseball. He was an avid fan of the Arizona Diamondbacks and held season tickets for many years. He was also deeply nature-oriented, finding peace and enjoyment at his cabins in Pennsylvania and Payson, Arizona.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Elizabeth Vollaro; his oldest brother, Frances; his brother, Joseph; and his brothers-in-law, William and Ronald Tigar.

John's legacy of love and dedication will be carried on by his devoted wife of 60 years, Delores; his six children: Denise, Delores, John, Joann, Donna, and Joseph. He is also survived by his twelve cherished grandchildren and six beloved great-grandchildren, along with many dear in-laws, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

John James Vollaro will be remembered for his steadfast faith, his commitment to his family, and the successful businesses he built. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
