Josephine Waldov Obituary

Josephine Waldov (Pessil bat Yekhiel) 100, of Philadelphia Pennsylvania passed away on October 2, 2025.

Josephine was born on September 2, 1925 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania to Elliot and Frances Sobelman.


She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Edward, cherished son Steve, her sister Roslyn, and her parents Elliot and Frances.

She is survived by her loving daughter Fran (Michael) Bogas, daughter-in-law Joan Waldov. She is the cherished grandmother of Eileen (Andy), Eric (Kate), Eddie (Jen), Aaron, and Sherri. She was loved by her six great-grandchildren, Ben, Jake, Elliott, Mackenzie, Kiara, and Vanessa.

Jo was known as the mom that all the neighborhood kids wanted to sit with and enjoy a delicious cooked meal and some good conversation. Jo worked as a secretary for the Board of Education and was a homemaker. She will always be remembered for her love of movies, music, reading, cooking, enjoying the ocean and sunshine, and spending time with family and friends. She was involved with Deborah Heart and Lung and volunteered her time for many years to the Election Polls. She lived in Northeast, Philadelphia for most of her life and lived the last 10 years in Independent Living at Pauls Run.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 6th at 12:45 at Shalom Memorial Park, 3573 Pine Road, Huntingdon Valley PA 19006.

Shiva will be immediately following for family and friends.
