It is with great sadness that the family of Josephine Angela Whittington announces her passing. She was born December 15, 1963, in Los Angeles, California, to Joseph and Fern Cammarata, and died September 27, 2024, due to complications of ALS.
Josie ran track at Gladstone High School in Azusa, CA, and was always a social butterfly. Josie birthed her first child Danella at the age of 23 and her 2nd child Amanda at the age of 25. She married the love of her life, John Whittington, May 11, 1996, at the age of 32. At this time, she gained 3 more children Jenna, John, and Robert. She later gained son in law Chris and daughter in law Maddy.
Josie was able to be present after the birth of her 4 grandchildren Kiley, Keegan, Johnny, and Brett. She will be with Amanda in spirit for the birth of twins Oliver and Zara.
Josie loved to host big family gatherings, especially Christmas, and was often referred to as the hostess with the mostess. She was very hard working and took pride in all aspects of her life. She worked from the age of 13 until she no longer could and retired early at the age of 58.
She was diagnosed with ALS in October of 2021 and lost her husband 2 months later. After her diagnosis, she traveled as much as she could, inviting anyone who was able to join. She fought ALS as long as she could and is now at peace. We thank you all for your prayers and blessings in the family's time of need.
