Ms. Josephine "Payne" Wise was born August 17, 1948, in Lexington County, South Carolina to the late Earlene Wise and the late John Allen Johnson. On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, Ms. Josephine peacefully transitioned into eternal rest.
Ms. Josephine was educated at Twin City High School, Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina. She was employed by Regal Manufacturing for many years. She retired from Carolina Culinary in West Columbia, South Carolina.
Ms. Josephine was baptized at an early age into the body of Christ at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina. She was a mother of four children, Mrs. Alice (Ray Charles) Lytes of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; Mrs. Phyllis (Videll) Addy and Bobbie Wise, both of Lexington, South Carolina and Richard Wise of Lithia Springs, Georgia.
Those who will cherish her memory include: seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; three nephews reared in the home, Larry, Paul and James Williams; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Mary Lou Wise and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
