Josephine E. Wright, a longtime resident of Richboro, passed away on April 28, 2025 at the age of 86.
Known by her family and friends as a people-person, MamaJo and Pastor Jo as many called her; had a tireless desire to help others and give back. With a kind heart, she had an unshakeable faith and loyalty to the Lord in all she did.
Josephine was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on October 17, 1938 to Frederick Hegmann and EffieBelle (Langham). She was passionate about education and continually pursued advanced and secondary degrees; with a BA and an MA in Music Education from the College of Global Studies at Arcadia University. She later returned to receive a Masters in Divinity at the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia.
Her entire career was built around praising the Lord, uplifting others, teaching the gospel through prayer, song, music and evangelical fellowship. Over the years, she worked at no less than 6 different Lutheran churches throughout Bucks and Montgomery counties and beyond, sharing her gift of joy and faith in the Lord. Over the decades, Jo reached and connected with hundreds if not thousands of people many whom she has kept as treasured friends throughout her life. She was most recently the Reverend Pastor at Family of God Lutheran Church in Buckingham, PA.

She also adored her 10 grandchildren as well as her 5 Great-Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her husband, James, her parents and brother Bill; as well as her first husband Leonard A Morley Sr.
She loved flowers, animals, arts & music, travel, family gatherings, and helping others. Jo was a Go-getter, not one to sit idle and was always out & about visiting and uplifting others whenever she could.
A Service to celebrate and honor Jo's life will be held 2PM Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at Family of God Lutheran Church, 4770 US 202, Buckingham PA. My wife's and I sincere condolences to the family of Paster Jo. We first met her at a small Lutheran Church in Chalfont where she was the organist and choir director. I continued on with her doing her Income Taxes for quite a number of years. She would always have a "lot" of papers on her table AND her dogs kept me busy with treats. She is quite the story of pursuing a life long dream and all the words in her Obituary are certainly true wrt helping others. Again, our sincere sympathy to all.

Jo was a wonderful person in all areas. She was a great Music teacher to our daughters. I took her Bible Study Class twice and she was a devoted teacher. She will be greatly missed. God Rest Her Soul.
Thank You Dear Pastor Jo. Sincerely, Liz and Bob Holford
