Joshua Akbas Obituary
Joshua Hilmi Akbas, age 39, of State Road, passed away at his residence on Friday, March 21, 2025. Josh was born in Forsyth County on June 20, 1985, to Tommie Hilmi "Turk" Akbas and Susan Boyd Akbas.
Josh was a self-employed Welder and Tattoo Artist. He loved to write songs and play his guitar. Josh also loved riding motorcycles, fishing with his friends, and spending time with his dog GiGi. He was a loving son and brother.
He was a member of Central Full Gospel Church of State Road.
He was preceded in death by his father, Tommie Hilmi Akbas "Turk Bates."
He is survived by his loving mother, Susan Boyd Akbas of State Road; brother Tommy Akbas; sisters Linda Jo Shore and husband Shannon and Samantha Burton and husband James, Alexis Akbas; nieces Brittany Shaw Hall, Savanna Shaw and wife Samantha, Chloe Shore, Abigail Burton, Anna Burton, Kyra Akbas, and Areonna Akbas; great-nieces and nephews Evie and Bowen; special aunt, Frankie Boyd, and his canine companion GiGi.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m., March 29, 2025, at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel by Rev. Bobby Norman. Interment will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens.
The Akbas family will receive friends Friday evening, March 28, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
