Joshua Eli Brooks

Joshua Eli Brooks, 46, of Tullahoma, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2023, at his home, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. He was born on February 24, 1979, to his mother, Judy Brooks (now Coss) in Lincoln County, Tennessee. He was a loving husband to his wife, Amanda Jean Brooks, and a devoted father to their four sons. He developed a passion for nature, music, bowling, Alabama football, and off-roading in his youth and enjoyed his treasured Jeep until the end of his life on Earth.

Josh loved the Lord at a very young age and was baptized when he was 10 years old. His abiding faith in God carried him through good times, hard times, and the grip of cancer. He seemed to instinctively understand early on that his life would not be a long one and always lived his life to the full. He developed strong friendships in his childhood and teenage years and kept those relationships throughout his life and developed many more along the way. He was a blessed man indeed and will be missed, remembered, and grieved for by many who loved him.

Josh was preceded in death by his dad, Michael Ray Floyd, his grandparents, Thomas and Aline Brooks, his Nanny Bonnie (Yvonne Grant), his Uncle Bill (Billy Brooks), his father-in-law Jiles Eddie Weddington, and sister-in-law R. Michelle Weddington. He is survived by his wife, Amanda; their four boys, Bill Willis Parks, Hunter Wade Parks, Slayton Eli Brooks (Julia), and Joshua Thomas (J.T.) Brooks; his mom and dad, Ray and Judy Coss; his brother Nicholas (Nick) Coss, and his sister, Kayla Coss; his Uncle John Brooks (Janice), Aunt Mary Thompson (James) and his cousins, who were his "first best friends", and his mother-in-law, Norma Weddington, and his brothers-in-law Eugene Weddington, Tommy Weddington, Gerald Weddington (Michelle), Micheal Weddington (Heather), and Bryan Weddington (Mary) as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members and dear friends. Last, but in no lesser measure, he is survived by his "brothers in spirit", who were closer than most any brothers could be, Billy Brooks, Josh (Mo) Moore, and Barry Sartain.

Visitation will be held at Tullahoma Funeral Home on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Micheal Weddington officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Tullahoma.
