Joshua Lee Castillo, beloved son, brother, and best friend, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025. Born on the Fourth of July, his life was a quiet flame-brief, beautiful, and unforgettable.

Joshua was a soul of deep beauty and quiet strength. Though he rarely spoke, when he did, his words were full of wisdom that lingered long after the moment passed. His sense of humor was warm and unexpected, a gentle light in the lives of those who were blessed to hear it. In prayer, his voice became a vessel-humble and powerful-carrying all who listened to the very throne of Jehovah.

To his mother, Diana Lee Castillo, he was more than a son-he was a best friend… The bond they shared was profound and unbreakable. He cherished his sister, Dietra Alyssa Semple, with unwavering love, always watching over her with a brother's fierce and gentle devotion.

He gave of himself endlessly and quietly; he lived not for applause but for purpose, and those who truly knew him felt the blessing of his life in every shared moment.

His favorite place on earth was the ocean-its vastness, its stillness, its ever-changing beauty mirrored his own spirit. Whether watching the waves or drifting on the water, he felt at home there, as if the sea itself recognized his depth.

Joshua Lee Castillo leaves behind a legacy not of words shouted, but of love lived. He was a blessing to those who truly knew him-and to his mother and sister, an eternal light.

Joshua is survived by his loving mother, Diana Lee; his sister and best friend Dietra Semple along with her husband Steven Semple; and his niece Autumn Semple and nephew James Semple, both of whom he loved dearly.

May his resurrection come to be soon… He will be missed beyond words and loved beyond measure.-John 11:25
