Joshua Sebastian Tyler Elliston, age 31, passed away in the early morning of Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2025 after a long, hard battle with organ failure.
Joshua was born in Gillette, WY, on February 28, 1994 to his parents, Haley Elliston and Leonard Thomas Sisk. He was a happy little boy for most of his childhood, always smiling and laughing; he most enjoyed the company of his family and his Mom’s closest friends. He lived with his Mom in Belle Fourche and Spearfish, SD from the time of his birth until 1996 when Haley graduated from BHSU. They then moved back to Gillette when she took her first teaching job. As an only child, he was always looking for new friends to “adopt” into his life, and many of them soon became a part of his family. He fell in love with music at an early age. At the age of 4, he was given his first guitar; within days, he was listening to his favorite songs and playing along. It wasn’t long before he was mimicking some of the greatest guitar players in history as well as writing music of his own. He would go on to play guitar, drums, and sing for most of his life.
Josh was very intelligent and could be stubborn (just like his Mom). There were times in his life when he struggled with mental and emotional issues that brought some heavy trauma and unfortunate consequences. However, he was always a fighter. He struggled his way through the loss of his beloved great-grandfather, Benny Whittle, and great-grandmother, Iris Whittle when he was a teen. Through it all, he managed to graduate with a GED at the age of 17. Afterward, he experienced some successes in work, independence, friendships, and love.
It wasn’t until his late twenties that Josh’s mental and emotional struggles would finally take a toll, and his body began to fail him.
Joshua is preceded in death by his father, Leonard “Tom” Sisk; his beloved great-grandparents, his pets ,Kody and Tweekie; and a couple of dear friends. He is survived by his mother, his grandmother,Judith Foreman; his great-aunt, Linda Newblom; his aunt, Kim Sisk; numerous cousins and other family members, and many, many friends. He will always be remembered as his Mom’s best friend and hero. His body will be cremated on Monday, Nov. 17, at 9:30 am in a private service at Walker Funeral Home and Crematory. His ashes will be returned to his Mom and her home where there will be a private family celebration of Josh’s life at a later time. His family wants to thank Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions for Josh’s care in the last few months of his life. A blessed Thank You also goes out to Carlos and Katie Delarosa for without whom Josh would not have received the comfort and care he needed. You are all angels, and you will forever be in the hearts of his family and friends.
