Joshua was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Angela Katherine Grandas and Rodney Scott Sprinkel. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers Nancy Grandas and Ann Sprinkel, his great-grandparents Vera and Herbert Sprinkel, and Katherine Bereschok.
Known to many as "Big Kuntry," Joshua had a quiet, laid-back vibe, but he was always up for an adventure. He had just wrapped up his junior year at Crisp County High School, where he played football with heart and hustle. He also played for the Cordele Cobras, was a two-time Team USA selection, and earned the title of Coach Mac All-American MVP. On and off the field, he believed in playing with respect and lifting others up. Coaching younger players brought him joy-he was a true mentor and role model. When he wasn't on the field, you could find him outside, spending time with the people he loved. He was also part of the New Covenant Church of God community.
Joshua is deeply loved and will be missed by his mom, Angela Grandas of Cordele; his dad, Rodney Scott Sprinkel and his wife Sherrie of Cordele; his brother, Brandon Sponseller of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan; his paternal grandfather David Sprinkel and step-grandfather Kenneth Gunter, both of Cordele; his maternal grandfather Larry Grandas of Pennsylvania; and his uncle Mike Ware of Glen Burnie, Maryland.
