Joshua Young Greening

Joshua Young Greening, 44, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024, in Topeka. He was born September 24, 1980, in Horton, Kansas. He is the son of Gary and Rhonda Greening of Meriden.
Josh graduated from Seaman High School in 1999 and Vo-Tech with a certificate in auto body collision repair.
Josh worked several jobs before settling with the State of Kansas working in the KDOT department where he was the Paint Crew Supervisor. He had worked for the state for 20 years. Josh also owned Traditional Heating LLC, as well as Greening Whitetails Deer Farm, which had been a dream of his. He loved to take fawns to schools, daycare centers, and senior living places.
Josh is survived by the love of his life, Laura Freisen. They had recently celebrated 17 years together. He is also survived by his son, one of the highlights of his life, Skyler Cole Greening. Other survivors include his parents, Gary and Rhonda Greening, two sisters, Jessica (Brad) Roush, Megan (Justin) Griffith, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dan and Debbie Leslie, 5 nephews, 2 nieces, grandparents, Dorothy Lively, Jack and Betty Greening, and Leonard Young, as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Josh had an extraordinary gift: the ability to connect with anyone instantly, turning encounters into friendships. His worth and kindness knew no bounds and his heart was open to everyone. He never knew a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand. His selflessness in helping others was a beacon of hope, reminding us of the goodness in the world. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be on, Monday, October 28, 2024, at 10:00 am at Northland Christian Church 3102 NW Topeka Blvd, Topeka, KS.
