Joshua Bruce Peterson Jr.

Joshua Bruce Peterson, Jr. AKA “Hair”, “Hillbilly” and “Baby Jesus”, age 17, of Saucier, MS passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025 in Saucier.

He was born on January 9, 2008, in Gulfport to Joshua Peterson, Sr. and Caryle Peterson. He attended West Harrison High School and was a recent high school graduate.  Joshua also attended the college of "hard knocks". He was a member of the Happy Hunt Club, Crow Creek Hunt Club, owned Green Acre and was a member of Green Acres and Chapps Fish Camp. Joshua was an avid hunter and fisherman and love your daughter kind of guy. He grew up loving baseball until his hunting addiction surpassed his love of baseball. He became an avid duck hunter by day and buck hunter at night. He worked with his dad as his righthand man in the plumbing business.

Joshua was always known as a jokester, living life to the fullest, being the life of the party, but also for his positive attitude, his ability to make people smile, his kind heart and his special love for his family and friends. He was always sure to end his phone calls with his mom, “love you, beautiful!” Remember that smile! Aim high, let it fly!

Joshua was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sheila Peterson, James Moran and Wyona Moran; and his beloved pets, Mattie and Black Jack. 

He is survived by his parents, Joshua and Caryle Peterson; his grandfather, Bruce Peterson; his siblings, Brittany Thompson (Ashton) and Dylan Molsbee (Kerry); his uncles, Jason Peterson (Mandy), Moe Moran (Faye) and Darrell Maulden (Sharon); his aunt, Sherry Moran; nephews Jaxxsen Thompson, Keigan Martin (Keke); his nieces, Journi Thompson, Londyn Molsbee and Jacey Rye and his pets, Reese, CoCo and Remi.

The family would like to thank Sawyer Brooks Foundation and all of his family. If you were Joshua’s friend, you are family.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the County Farm Road Shelter, 15035 County Farm Road, Gulfport, MS 39503, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in Finley Cemetery in Gulfport.
