Joshua Smith, affectionately known as Josh, was a charming young man who made a lasting impact on many lives. Born on February 3, 1996, Josh carried with him a beautiful soul that could light up any room he entered, creating connections and fostering friendships with ease. His infectious spirit and genuine kindness resonated deeply with those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Tragically, Josh's life came to a close on October 14, 2025, but the memories he leaves behind will be cherished forever. A consummate outdoorsman, he loved to hunt and fish, finding peace and joy in the beauty of nature. Josh was country to the core and embraced life with a passion that inspired others. A devout Christian, he carried his faith as a guiding light through life's challenges, and now, after fighting his last fight, he rests peacefully.
Josh will be greatly missed and was unmeasurably loved by all who knew him. He leaves behind his beloved children, Olivia Ann Smith and Jace Hempton Smith and their mother, Chelsea Smith; his parents, Stacey Carrillo and Clifford Smith; brother, Jacob Smith and his family; sister, Anna Smith and her family; grandmothers, Varine Stroud; and JoAnn Holland. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, George Holland.
Though the world feels a little dimmer without him, we take comfort in knowing that Josh is now free from the struggles he once faced, dancing in the sky and bringing light and joy to all around him. Rest in peace, dear Josh. Your legacy of love and laughter will forever shine in our hearts.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Bro. David Matlock officiating. Burial will follow at St. Maurice Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 am until service time at the funeral home on Saturday the 25th.
