Joshua David Soldner, 33, of Hamilton, Ohio, formerly of Juneau, Wisconsin, was called home to heaven on Saturday, June 14, 2025, following a long and courageous battle with colon cancer. Throughout his journey, Josh faced every challenge with unwavering faith, strength, and hope-never giving up, and never losing heart.

Josh was born on December 26, 1991, to Bruce and Carol (Zank) Soldner. He was baptized on January 26, 1992, and confirmed his faith at St. John's Lutheran Church in Juneau, Wisconsin. He graduated from Dodgeland High school in 2010 and went on to earn a degree in Computer Science from Herzing University in 2012.

Josh had a love for the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and found a deep fulfillment serving as a camp counselor at Camp BASIC, where he supported his uncle Jim and built lifelong friendships. He was also passionate about sports and enjoyed giving back to his community as an assistant track coach at Dodgeland High School.

On July 30, 2022, Josh married the love of his life, Amy Barker, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hamilton, Ohio. Together, they shared a love of dancing, and their Arthur Murray dance family held a special place in their hearts. Josh and Amy dreamed of building a homestead and living off the land-an aspiration they looked forward to building together.

Josh is dearly loved and will be deeply missed by his wife, Amy Soldner; his parents, Bruce and Carol Soldner; his parents-in-law, Rich and Sheryl Barker; his brother, Michael (Laura) Soldner; and his nephews, Mason and Logan. He is also remembered with love by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dolores Hundt, Clarence Soldner, and Ronald and Rosalyn Zank; his uncle, Gary Soldner; and his Godmother, Joyce Schaalma-Holden.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the many doctors, nurses, and holistic health professionals who cared for Josh with compassion. Special gratitude is given to Pastor Jud and the Immanuel Lutheran Church community in Hamilton, Ohio, for their continued loving support and for assisting with Josh's return to Wisconsin. His final days were spent in the caring hands of the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls, where he was treated like family.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hamilton, Ohio; St. John's Lutheran Church in Juneau, Wisconsin; the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin; or directly to the family.

I knew Josh from high school. We had lockers next to each other for 4 years and I don't remember a day that he wasn't smiling. He's one of the most genuine people I've ever known and I feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to know him then. Prayers for peace and comfort to Josh's wife and family. I am so sorry for your loss.

I am deeply saddened to hear this news of the passing of Joshua. I knew him since he was a little boy when we lived next-door to him. He always had us laughing and I remember him fondly as a sweet little boy that our whole neighborhood loved. I am so sorry for your loss Bruce and Carol and also Amy his wonderful wife. I´m glad he´s not suffering anymore and it sounds like everything was done possible to help him. I know he is resting comfortably in God´s arms and he is looking down on all of you with so much love God bless you all! love, Kay Budreau
