Joslyn Jenee Teetzel, 29, departed in
Fountain, Colorado and went to be with the Lord on July 26, 2023. Joslyn was born on April 27, 1994 in Fort Hood, Texas from the union of Thomas L. Teetzel (Holly) and Arlene F. Teetzel Joslin (Teryn Hart). There was nothing quite like the bond between Joslyn, her parents and siblings. From before she was born until the time she set out on her own and started her own life, all of them had a special connection. Joslyn called Colorado Springs home for 20 years, but she also lived in Fort Hood, Texas.
Joslyn was an avid gardener, hiker, bike rider and an outdoorswoman. Her nature-loving rested in a sense of wonders and awe at the beauty of God's creation and the wilderness of the backcountry. She also loved camping and spending quality time loving the land, honoring its mysteries, and embracing the spirit of different places. Overall, she was a person who had many different interests, talents, skills and creative pursuits in life like crocheting. In the end, Joslyn's spirit led her to write her own story.
Joslyn was an animal lover, enthusiast and devotee. Her compassion for animals was intimately associated with her goodness of character. She believed that animals were such agreeable friends; they asked no questions and didn't pass criticisms.
Joslyn knew that a life lived for others was worthwhile. She rose by lifting others and she knew the purpose of life was just to be happy. Joslyn was compassionate, generous, helpful and empathetic. She impacted so many individuals and elevated them. Everyone agreed that she was an honest, hardworking and wise person who knew when to take risks and when not to.
Her greatest joys were her children. Joslyn spent quality time with her family members practicing gratitude and encouraging laughter. To her children, Joslyn was their root and foundation. Joslyn planted the seed that they based their life on; family is not something it is everything. To her children, she was an exemplary and exceptional mother and a gentle and strong superwoman.
Joslyn was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Juan J. Joslin Sr. and James Teetzel; grandmother, Margarita Joslin; and uncle, Nelson Joslin.
She lives on in the memory, hearts, and minds of her daughters, Skylar Teetzel and Ryann Rodriguez of Fountain, CO; sons, Alister Kirby and Asher Kirby of Fountain, CO; brothers, Christopher Teetzel of
Colorado Springs, CO, Nathan Teetzel (Morgan) of Waldorf, MD, and Jacob Teetzel of
Edwardsville, KS; sister, Eryn Teetzel of
Colorado Springs, CO; step-sisters, Ashlyn Smith (Brandon) from
Colorado Springs, CO, Lyndsie Hickman (Branden) from Falcon, CO, Ally Burns and Bella Colorado from
Overland Park, KS; step-brother, Dilan Daigneault (Mishaila) from
Colorado Springs, CO; grandmother, Kathleen Fuller from
Edwardsville, KS; as well as many other family members, friends and a loving community.
Joslyn will be dearly missed.
