Marquis Jovan Lil Smith

On November 12, 2025 Marquis Jovan Smith, 43, of Toledo, Ohio, known to many as Lil Duck, left his earthly home and went on to his forever home.

Lil Duck was born in Toledo on September 17, 1982 to Veronica Holly and Howard Smith. In his youth he was in Boy Scouts and dominated the football field at Springfield High School. He also played Saturday league basketball which he talked his mom into coaching during his high school years. Marquis worked as a mechanic for many years and later on, he became a member of the Night Riders motorcycle club with his dad, uncle and baby brother. He was very active in the organization and even held title of president. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was a very proud and protective father, brother and uncle.

Marquis was preceded in death by his grandparents Elizabeth and Stewart Holly, Eloise Smith and Robert Hawkins and loving mother Veronica Holly.

Marquis leaves behind to cherish his memory his father Howard (Duck) Smith, daughters Keshawna and Janya, brothers Demetrius Smith and Micah (Dannielle) Sanders, sisters Charmaine Watson and Cameo Smith. Niece Ellieona; nephews, Daniel, Jeremy, Yorel, Benito, Major and Cameron. Godson Jayshawn and honorary children Joslyn, Michael Jr., and Taliyah and granddaughter Ma'Laya. Great aunts Ruth (Huff) Hamilton and Ethel Huff, aunt Ruby Smith and many, many cousins, friends and brothers and sisters.
