Obituary of Joy Benanti
Joy Benanti, beloved partner, cherished sister, aunt, and dear friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 24, 2024, at the age of 78.
She was born in Woodside, NY, in 1946 to Rose and Jerome Benanti. Joy was the eldest of four siblings, her two sisters Diane and Annette and brother Fred. She shared a particularly close bond with her sister Diane and brother Fred, speaking with them daily. She was a proud Long Island resident, where she lived close to her family alongside her longtime partner, Lynn.
True to her name, Joy brought light and happiness to everyone she encountered. Her enormous heart and unwavering love touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her. Joy lived life with passion and flair. She had a deep affection for her little dog, Kaylee, who was a constant source of companionship and joy. She also enjoyed savoring good scotch and admired fancy cars, indulging in life's simple yet elegant pleasures.
Joy found immense fulfillment in her role as an aunt. She watched her nieces and nephews grow into adults, playing an integral part in their lives and sharing in their triumphs and milestones. In her final moments, she was surrounded by love, holding the hand of her brother, who brought her comfort and peace.
Throughout her career, Joy held multiple managerial positions at local businesses on Long Island, where she worked tirelessly to make them more efficient, ensuring they benefited the community. Her dedication and leadership were felt not just in the workplace but across the lives she impacted professionally and personally.
Joy will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her, a shining example of love, kindness, and grace.
