South Jordan, UT — Joy G. Christensen Davis, 78, peacefully returned to her Heavenly Father on December 3, 2025. She was born on January 25, 1947, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Leland Justen and Voneta Irene Lyon Christensen. Joy married Steve Davis on June 21, 1968, in the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple. Though they later divorced, they made their home in Magna, Utah, where they lovingly raised their two children, Stacey and Casey.

Joy was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served faithfully in many callings, giving countless hours of her time and heart to the Relief Society and Primary organizations. Her life was filled with service, creativity, and love for others.

Joy had a talent for cooking and was always eager to share her meals with family, friends, and neighbors. A gifted seamstress, she sewed many of the clothes her children wore in their early years and later developed a love for quilting, a skill she generously shared with those around her. She was a dedicated homemaker and a compassionate caregiver, especially to her mother, Voneta, in her later years.

Joy is survived by her daughter, Stacey Davis; her son, Casey (Sarah) Davis; grandchildren Kayden, Corbin, and Carson Davis; her twin brother, Roy Christensen; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leland and Voneta; sisters, La Rona McCallister and La Rae Harding; and brothers, Jesse Christensen and Kenneth Christensen.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West Magna Main Street. A second viewing will take place on Friday, December 12, from 9:00- 9:45 a.m., also at Peel Funeral Home, followed by funeral services at 10:00 a.m.

Interment will be at Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah.
