Echoes of Life
"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes: and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things have passed away (Revelation. 21:4).
A time to be born and a time to die
On Monday, December 1, 2025, the death angel came into our midst and plucked from his garden one of His fairest roses. It is God's own sweet will that called Deaconess Davis from her work to her heavenly Home.
Farry was born to Francis Dalton and Hester Meador on February 13, 1942 in Mayodan, North Carolina and brought up in a loving, Christian home. She was the sixth of nine children.
A time to love
Farry was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt whose life reflected love, faith, and unwavering devotion to her family. The example she lived day-by-day will forever be a goal for her family to strive to reach. Having met at Elizabeth City College, She was united in Holy Matrimony on March 13, 1965, with the love of her life, Deacon James Davis. They were the loving parents of Kevin Davis.
During their 60+ years of marriage, they traveled to many beautiful places such as Mexico, Hawaii, the Caribbean, South America, Italy, Israel, Spain, New Zealand, and for their 50th Anniversary, Australia.
A time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted
Farry attended and graduated from Charles R. Drew High School. She received her Bachelors of Science Degree from Elizabeth City College in Elizabeth City, North Carolina where she also became a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. After college, she moved to Brooklyn, New York. She also received her Masters of Education Degree from Montclair State College in Montclair, New Jersey.
A time to build up
Farry's work ethic was established at an early age. She was employed by the Newark Board of Education at Bragaw Avenue School and retired after 30 years in 1995. She received many professional development certificates, such as Morden Approach to Elementary Math and Comp. Ed. She also took in-service classes at Kean College.
Farry was baptized at Faith Temple Free Will Baptist Church on July 12, 1975 and joined Shiloh Baptist Church as a faithful member in August 1978. She was a Deaconess who worked with the Lord's Kitchen, Food Pantry, Media Ministry, Choir, Pastor's Team in Love, Bible Study, office volunteer, Liturgical Dance Ministry, SIBLE, Beatification, and Cell Group #2.
A time to weep
Farry was predeceased by her son, Kevin Davis, parents Francis Dalton and Hester Meador; Siblings Jenny and Mary Dalton and Frances Whitley; Nephews Calvin Dalton and Anthony Brian; and Niece Sheila Brian.
She leaves treasured memories with her dedicated husband Deacon James Davis. She is survived by: Elizabeth Brian, Sharon Dalton, Patricia and Raymond Craig, William Dalton (Daisy), Joe A. Dalton and Joan Moyer; Grandchildren: Savoy Davis and Makesha Stephanie Holmes; Great Grandson: Jesiah Mustafa Holmes; Godson: Keenan Thomas and a host of cousins and many friends.
