Joy Habegger Obituary
She was born on March 21, 1949, in Berne, Indiana, to Ivan and Vera (Moser) Sprunger. Joy married Douglas Habegger on June 19, 1971.
Surviving are her husband Doug of Morton; daughter, Lana (Jared) Hart of Metamora; son, Brad (Cali) Habegger of Morton; grandchildren, Morgan and Kelsey Hart, Molly and Livvy Habegger; sister, Marilyn (Roger) Fox of Berne, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by both parents and two brothers, Merle and Richard.
Joy graduated from Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, where she received her bachelor of science degree. She taught third grade at Grundy School in Morton for 5 years and was a devoted pastor's wife for many years.
Joy deeply loved her Savior, Jesus Christ, her family, especially her granddaughters, her many friends, and her church. She also found joy in crocheting and knitting, watching college basketball, and doing puzzles.
Joy was a member of Grace Church in Morton, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2026, with Pastor Brad Habegger and Pastor Jonathan Farrell officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, January 26, at Grace Church. Further visitation will be held from 9 to 9:45 a.m., Tuesday, prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Hirstein Cemetery in Morton.
Memorials may be made to Grace Church or Rural Home Missionary Association (RHMA).
