Joy Ilene Henderson, 69, went to be with her soulmate Pug and Jesus on August 14th, 2025

Joy was born in Pontiac, Michigan on July 16th, 1956, to William Bethel Foster and Saurah Pearl

Foster.

During her life she held several jobs which included picking bushels of cotton, waitressing and

eventually to her calling of working in several schools with children of all ages. During that time

she was simply known as "Miss Joy." The end of her career led her to the Richardson Center

where she worked with hearing impaired children that brought her Joy daily.

Joy is survived in this life by her son Christopher Henderson and daughter Jamie Strange,

daughter-in-law Angel Henderson, son-in-law Shane Strange and her five grandchildren Nicole

Jackson and husband Ranson Jackson, Morgan Strange, Savannah Henderson, Michael

Henderson and Addison Strange and her first great-grandchild Maverick Shane Jackson, who

she will meet in passing. A sister Joan and brother Warren as well as numerous nieces and

nephews and countless friends.

Joy led a tough life and overcame many obstacles but always stood strong in the aftermath. Her

faith never wavered; she brought all of her kids and grandkids to the lord always believing her

God would see her through.

It is through that faith that we believe she is now in his arms and Kingdom with her departed

husband "Pug" Henderson, of whom she was together with for 37 years. She is also preceded in

death by her mother, father, brothers, sister and companion of 15 years Hal Barnes.

Until we meet again, we will love you always.
