It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joy Baker Lamb, age 89, of Newtown, CT, formerly of Leesburg, FL. Joy passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.

Born in Hillsboro, Ohio, on July 11, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Ethan and Pauline Ferguson Baker and the wife of the late Charles "Frank" Lamb. Following her graduation from high school, Joy pursued art studies at Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio. She was known for her artistic talent, creativity, and skill as a painter. In 1971, she married Frank Lamb. Together they resided in Leesburg, Florida, where they raised their daughter. During her early years in Florida, Joy managed a dance studio and operated a dancewear shop in Leesburg.

Joy enjoyed spending time with friends over coffee or breakfast on Fridays and shopping trips to nearby towns. She valued attending The First Baptist Church of Leesburg and cherished moments with her grandsons. Joy had a passion for sewing her own clothes and cared deeply for animals, particularly her Schipperkes.

She was recognized for her warm smile and kindness, consistently uplifting those around her. Her name truly reflected her spirit. Joy took delight in the Florida sunshine, college football, reading, sweets, and demonstrated unwavering loyalty and pride toward her husband, daughter, son-in-law and grandsons. She would always have an "I love you" ready for her family and friends.

Mrs. Lamb is survived by her daughter, Paula Lamb Martiska, and son-in-law, Greg Peter Martiska, of Newtown, as well as two grandsons, Miles and Eli Martiska. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Frank Lamb, her brother, George Baker, and her sister, June Baker Rhude.

The family extends its sincere gratitude to the staff of the Cascades at Stone Bridge for their compassionate care during her final years. If you would like to honor her memory, please consider making a contribution to the Alzheimer's Association.
