Carol Louise Koeltl Kessler died suddenly on November 4, 2025. Carol is survived by her beloved husband Larry, her children Jason (Tasha) Lowery and Kerri (Timothy) Jackson, grandchildren Emily, Paige, Hope, Lucas and Zack, siblings Richard, Lynn and George (Eileen), and many cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Virginia and George Koeltl, and sister-in-law, Maureen Koeltl.

Carol was born on December 15, 1953 in New Rochelle, NY. Raised in the Bronx, she attended St. Barnabas Elementary School and St. Catherine's High School. Her family spent their summers in Hewitt, NJ on Greenwood Lake - a wonderful escape from the hot city summers where Carol's family became part of the cherished Lakeside community. She would later bring her own children there each summer. It was one of her favorite places, and she was grateful to share it with her siblings, whom she loved dearly.

In 1979, as a young single mother without a college education or professional work experience, Carol found a job as an accounting clerk at Combe Inc. in White Plains, NY. Over the course of 35 years with the company, Carol worked tirelessly, taking accounting and business classes at night, and steadily advanced through the ranks - all while cultivating some of the dearest friendships of her life.

Carol's greatest joy was being a mom. Parenting with complete dedication, determination and love, she was always there - putting her children first, showing up, following through, supporting, guiding and leading by example. As a single mother, she took immense pride in her children and in watching them flourish.

In 1996, she met the love of her life, Lawrence Kessler. They married on May 3, 1998 and soon moved to Cross River, NY, where they lived for 22 years before settling in Oxford, CT. Larry filled Carol's life with love and happiness for 29 years. Carol's world became complete when she became a grandmother to her five precious grandbabies. Everyone she met was treated to countless stories of how beloved they were.

Carol loved shopping, a great deal, travel, stylish shoes, a well-made cosmopolitan, her adorable Westie Barkly, and always, always her family. They were her greatest joy and pride. Carol will be remembered by her husband, children, grandchildren, siblings and all who loved her. She was a wonderfully funny, kind, intelligent and empathetic woman. Carol will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A Mass in her honor will take place at 10AM on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at St. Mary's Church, Bethel, CT, with a reception immediately following at Marygold's on Main, Newtown, CT. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Sandy Hook Promise.
