Joy Darlene Loftis, age 65 of Columbia, Tennessee passed away peacefully on Sunday, June29, 2025, at NHC Columbia surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Aiken, South Carolina on November 19, 1959, Joy was the cherished sister of Mark Darwin Loftis of Columbia, Tennessee. Joy was challenged most all her life with various physical and mental issues which hindered her life in many ways. Even with her challenges she maintained her sense of humor and cared deeply for her family, friends, caregivers, and pets. She had a kind and loving personality that helped her make friends and be a positive influence for those she came in contact.
She is preceded in death by her father, Lewis Sadler Loftis and mother, Katherine Ridley Loftis of Huntsville, Alabama. She is survived by her brother, Mark Darwin (Gwyn) Loftis, as well as nephews, Dr. Christopher Mark (Courtney) Loftis, Chadwick Ryan Loftis, and niece, Rebekah Claire Loftis. Also, great nieces, Margaret Jean Loftis, Sadie Ann Loftis, and great nephew, Bowen James Loftis.
A memorial service will be held at the West Seventh Church of Christ Chapel in Columbia, Tennessee on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 7pm with a visitation starting at 6:30pm. Keith Parker will be officiating. Joy will be inurned later in the month at Valhalla Memory Gardens in Huntsville, Alabama, where her parents are interred.
