Joy Phillips Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by DeMoss-Durdan Funeral Home and Crematory - Corvallis on Dec. 31, 2025.
Joy Carla Phillips was born February 4, 1934 in Switzerland. She moved to

America when she was a teenager and spent the rest of her life here. Joy

was a wonderful artist, creating many beautiful works of art in sculpture,

paint, pencil and other mediums. She generously shared her art with others.

At the end of her life, she spent a lot of time drawing pictures of

people's loved ones, animal and human, which she would give as gifts.

Joy had 3 children, Cynthia, William and Ezra. She had 2 sisters, Maria and

Nelda, and her step children whom she loved, Aaron, Brent, Eugene, Darryl

and Janet. She had many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces,

nephews, and friends, especially Berthold Huber, whom she loved very much

also. She had a wonderful, loving and happy marriage with Bill Phillips who

passed before her in 2017.

For the last 8 years of her life she lived with her daughter in Oregon.

They spent their time together happily with lots of love and laughter every

day. They were each other's best friend and they went on many adventures

together, exploring the beauty all around them in the Oregon forests and

beaches. At the time of her death she was still walking daily and

exercising.

Joy was a beautiful person, inside and out. She didn't hold grudges and

always saw the best in others. She was an optimist all her life. She made

the world and the people around her better for knowing her. She was a

deeply spiritual person, and God and Jesus came first in her life. She was

deeply loved, and, is now deeply missed. She will never be forgotten. She

passed suddenly at home on December 12, 2025, which was exactly how she

wanted it.
