Joy Powers

Loved and cherished was our beloved Wife, Mom, Sister, Grandmother, Aunt and Friend, Joy Powers who went home to Heaven on October 19, 2023. Joy was born on September 20, 1932 in Finley, Oklahoma to Joe Bill and Zella Forsythe. She is preceded in death by husband Aus+n Powers and daughter Reba Gantz. Also preceding her in death are her parents Joe Bill and Zella Forsythe, brothers Robert Morgan, Glenn Forsythe and Billy Joe Forsythe ; sisters Helen Linney, Fannie Wells and Mima Forsythe. Joy is survived by her children, Arlen Powers and Donna (Tom) Harvey, and son-inlaw Sidney Gantz, and sister Mary Dickens of Bellona, New York. Also, surviving her are grandchildren Brandon Powers, Keely Gantz, Nicole Powers and Shanley Gantz, as well as great grandchildren Bianca Powers and Brody Chavarria, and great-great grandchild Ayla Grego. She was cherished and loved by numerous nieces, nephews and precious friends. Foremost in her life was her personal rela+onship with her Savior, Jesus. She was always sharing and showing in her daily walk the love of Jesus to others around her. Joy was known for her spirt of kindness, friendliness, helpfulness and caring. All who knew and cherished her will miss her so, but will always have precious memories in their hearts. Memorial Service will be on November 11,2023 at 10:00 am at La Paz-Grahams Funeral Home at 555 West Amador, Las Cruces, New Mexico.
