Joy Swoveland

It is with heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the passing of a beloved wife, mother, and faithful servant of God, Lucinda (Joy) Mathewson Swoveland, who went home to be with the Lord on March 26, 2026

Joy was a woman of unwavering faith, whose life was a testament to her love for Jesus Christ. She lived each day with grace, strength, and a quiet confidence rooted in her relationship with Him. Her faith was not only something she believed, but something she lived out daily-through kindness, generosity, prayer, and steadfast love for her family.

She was the devoted wife of Eric Swoveland with whom she shared 43 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life centered on faith, commitment, and unconditional love-a legacy that will continue through generations.

Joy was a proud and loving mother to her 4 sons, who were the pride and joy of her life. She poured her heart into raising them with strong values, faith in God, and a deep sense of integrity. Her guidance, prayers, and encouragement shaped the men they are today.

She will be remembered for her strength in difficult times, her gentle spirit, her unwavering faith, and the way she made everyone feel loved and seen. Whether through a kind word, a warm meal, or a quiet prayer, she impacted countless lives.

Though our hearts ache in her absence, we find comfort in knowing she is now healed and at peace in the presence of her Savior. As it is written in scripture, "Well done, good and faithful servant."

She is survived by her loving husband Eric Swoveland of 43 years and her four sons, Jason, Justin, Ian and Austin, who will carry on her legacy of faith and love. She is also survived by her 4 grandchildren and her 2 sisters Cristi and Bonnie.

A celebration of life service will be held on April 4th at New Life Town Center at 2pm where family and friends will gather to celebrate her life and the hope we have in Christ. In honor of Joy, guests are encouraged to wear bright Easter colors to the service.
