Gary Frank Boehm

Gary F. Boehm Jr., 60, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away on March 19, 2026.

Born on July 12, 1965, in Hammond, Indiana, Gary grew up in Virginia Beach and graduated from Bayside High School. He was known as a dedicated, loyal, and hardworking man who took pride in a strong work ethic. Gary lived life with a true zest, embracing every moment with energy, spontaneity, and a love for good times shared with those around him.

Gary was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan and cherished gathering with friends and family to watch the games. He was always ready for a road trip-often with no set destination-and wherever Gary went, his cooler was never far behind. When he wasn't on an adventure, he could be found at home, working to perfect his skills on the grill. His presence brought laughter, warmth, and unforgettable memories to all who knew him.

He is survived by his life partner and the love of his life, Martha Sanders; her daughter, Samantha Sanders (Chris), and granddaughter, Kennedy; his sisters, Cindy Hennen and Kim (Stan) Glaser; his nieces, Elizabeth Parkin and Sarah Glaser; and his nephew, Jonathan Glaser. He is also lovingly remembered by Martha's sisters, Laura (Preston) Pedigo, Pam (Stan) Walchock, Julie Adams, and Sandy Kirby, along with many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews whom Gary adored.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Gary and Joan Boehm, and his brother, Phillip Boehm.

Martha and Gary's loved ones express their sincere gratitude to Lizzie and Romona with Amedisys Hospice for their compassionate care, and to Dr. Kappus at Duke University Hospital for his dedication and commitment throughout Gary's journey.

Arrangements are being handled by Strickland and Family Cremation and Funeral Services. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 21st at The Frog at 11am.

All who knew and loved Gary are invited to join in honoring and celebrating a life well lived-one that will be dearly missed.
