She leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor her memory: her daughters, Susie Massey and her husband Don, and Amy Turner and her husband Eddie. Her legacy also lives on through her grandchildren, Steven Massey and his girlfriend Hannah Botts, Sarah Bowling and her husband Will and Clay Thomas and his wife Carleigh. She was a proud great-grandmother to Liam, Brooks, and James Bowling, with another great-grandchild, affectionately known as Sweetie Pea, on the way. Additionally, she is survived by her brother, Harold "Hal" Bevis, and his wife Judy.
A memorial service to celebrate Joy's life will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 3911 Sharpsburg McCollum Road, Newnan, GA. Visitation is at 12:00 with the service following at 1:00. Pastor Ben Sprenger will officiate.
Joy will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
