Joyce Betts Obituary
Joyce Betts, 89, of Cavalier, ND passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Wedgewood Manor in Cavalier. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 29th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. memorial service at the Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Burial will be held in the Cavalier Cemetery.
Elizabeth “Joyce” Betts was born August 11, 1935, in Northamptonshire, England to Alfred G. and Elizabeth (Goddard) Betts. She grew up in Northamptonshire and at the age of 11 years, moved with her family to the United States. They settled in the Bathgate area. Joyce graduated as valedictorian from Bathgate High School in 1953. She then attended Aaker’s Business College in Grand Forks, ND. Joyce then worked for the Boy Scouts of America in Grand Forks and then moved to Cavalier, where she worked for Timian Insurance until her retirement.
She enjoyed bowling, watching wrestling on television, socializing with friends at Thompson’s Café, and cruising around town.
Joyce is survived by her daughter, Tammy Betts of Cavalier. Preceding her in death were her parents.
