Joyce J. Nelson Bloom, 82, of Titusville, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Country Acres Personal Care.
Joyce was born on May 2, 1943, in Titusville, to the late Merlin and Freda Davenport Nelson. She married Frederick L. "Fred" Bloom, Jr., on July 24, 1965, at Pleasantville. He preceded her in death on September 14, 2024.
She was a graduate of Pleasantville High School, Class of 1961.
Joyce worked as a secretary at Wolfs Head Oil, Skat Oil, and was last employed for 30 years at Taylor Ramsey Lumber Co.
She was a member of Pleasantville Community Church, served as secretary and church treasurer, and sang in the choir for many years.
Joyce enjoyed NASCAR and was a fan of Jimmy Johnson, listening to music, especially Elvis, playing cards with friends, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son, Kent Bloom of Seven Fields, PA; her brother, Robert Nelson of York; her goddaughter, Amy Stewart and husband Grant of Elizabethtown, PA; a close cousin, Judy Abrams and husband Richard of Titusville; sisters-in-law, sisters Carol Weaver and husband Tom of Harmony, PA, and Charlotte Cherry and husband Craig of Titusville; and her brother-in-law, Ken Weber of Pleasantville; a cousin, Roy Pepple of Titusville; close friends Richard and Marilyn Platt of Haines City, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joyce was preceded in death by her siblings, Rev. James M. Nelson and wife Audrey, and Carole Weber.
Visitation will be held at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home Inc. 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Pleasantville Community Church with pastor Shawn Jacobson, officiating.
